Group Get-Away Ideal For Families & Friends

Think of Footprints Group Get-Away as a large cottage that you and your friends/colleagues/family share.  There is no one else but you and you get to use the entire place to yourselves, with no hidden charges for all the wonderful extras.  This includes the:

-    bedrooms (ten in total), each with its own entrance and a three-piece washroom and shower, clean linens and towels all waiting for you when you arrive;

-    lounge/café where you can bring all your own food, make dinners, watch movies, relax;

-    private lake where you can swim, fish, canoe or just sit beside with a drink in the evening watching the beavers.

When you arrive, the lead member of your group opens the main door to the welcome room and inside you will find all the keys to the rooms you rented and the key to the lounge/café.  People can now go to their rooms, or down to the lounge/café and begin to unload the coolers/food and begin to enjoy yourself. 

In the café there is a large fridge, a standup freezer, shelves for storing food, microwave, coffee maker, pots, dishes and cutlery for 40 people.  We provide dish soap, scrub brushes, dishtowels, vacuum cleaners, etc.  All the items you need to prepare meals, eat and clean up afterwards.  Outside we have a barbecue and a large deck area for the whole group (new in 2009).

The lounge is large and is attached to the café.  It contains a DVD player for movies/music and of course couches and chairs for relaxing.  There are some games, but please bring some others as this is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the evening.  Just outside the lounge we have horseshoe pits for those interested in a game or two.

The lake is small but deep in the middle (around 25 feet) with a raft to play on.  It is very clean and is an excellent place to swim and fish.  There are canoes, a peddle boat and two aluminum boats for you to use.  There are also lifejackets, but bring some for the kids as fit is very important for safety reasons.  Across the road there is a beach on Diamond Lake, about a 15 minute walk away.

Other things to do on the property?  Well of course we have a beautiful fire pit area (wood included) with picnic tables and chairs where you can sit at night and watch the stars or roast marshmallows.  There is also a volleyball/badminton court.  We have a walk marked out through the woods which takes about an hour to do.  Of course, there are lots of other things to do in the area, so just read our welcome guide for ideas.

When you leave?  Well, just like all other cottage rentals, you leave the place like you found it (except you don’t have to do the laundry J) and close the gate on your way out.  We'll handle the rest.  A perfect, relaxed, vacation with no one to bother you and your group.
